Role Overview As an ACT Instructor, you will guide high school students as they navigate and improve ACT scores. You will deliver engaging, effective, and student-centered instruction to help high school students improve ACT scores. Instructors follow CAMP-provided curriculum (no lesson creation!) and resources, adapt lessons for diverse learners, and help build a positive, college-focused culture. Key Responsibilities Deliver ACT prep lessons using CAMP-provided slide decks and materials. Facilitate whole-class, small-group, and tiered instruction according to student needs and program design. Incorporate test-taking strategies, pacing techniques, and subject review into lessons. Monitor engagement and adjust delivery to maintain a productive learning environment. Track student attendance and participation; submit required reports/documentation on time. Collaborate with program staff to address student challenges and celebrate growth. Model professionalism, punctuality, and a growth mindset for students. Maintain confidentiality of student data and follow CAMP policies and procedures. Work in collaboration with the school principal, teachers, CAMP team, and Site Coordinators, in partnership with the Kelly® Education Team. Program Details – Birmingham, Alabama Schedule: Sessions are available Monday through Friday, primarily mornings and early afternoons. You create your own schedule! Instructors can expect to work 4-6 hours per week, depending on availability and school preference(s). Program Dates: Starting ASAP upon successful completion of onboarding and background checks. This position is temporary through March 2026. Compensation: Weekly pay through Kelly Education. Tier 1: College students and recent college graduates – $25/hour. Tier 2: Experienced educators – $30/hour. Grade & Subject: High School ELA and mathematics. Qualifications Required: Pursuing an Associate’s degree or higher. Strong content knowledge in ACT-tested subjects (English, Math, Reading, Science). Ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust instruction for varying skill levels. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Commitment to student success and educational equity. Preferred: Experience teaching or tutoring high school students. Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s degree. Prior experience with ACT prep or standardized test instruction. Familiarity with standardized test prep resources. Perks Consistent weekly schedule.
