Job Title Coastal and Marine Engineer Location Houston, TX Job Description AECOM is seeking a Coastal and Marine Engineer for our office in Houston, TX. Candidates should have experience in the design and implementation of dredging projects, marsh creation, coastal structures and shoreline stabilization, beach nourishment, and related projects. Suitable candidates must possess strong analytical skills and demonstrate familiarity with coastal processes, sediment management—including beneficial use of dredged material—and geotechnical or structural systems. Responsibilities Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. Proposes an approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Identifies discrepancies in results. Provides guidance to entry‑level engineers. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Preferred Qualifications M.S. degree in Coastal or Ocean Engineering or relevant field is preferred. Texas Professional Engineer (PE) Registration. Professional certification/registration, depending on discipline. Prior experience with Galveston, Fort Worth, Mobile, and New Orleans Districts of the USACE and Texas and/or state projects preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills. Knowledge or familiarity in AutoCAD and/or GIS. Ability to work both independently and in group environments. Willingness to travel (typically for one to three days). Additional Information Relocation is not available for this role. Sponsorship is not available now or in the future for this role. Occasional project/client related travel may be required.
