Job description: Job Title: Combination Welder Position Summary: The primary responsibility is Tig/Mig/Stick welding. Stainless steel TIG welding proficiency is required for this role Each job must be run with accuracy and timeliness as well as with the understanding and abiding by safety guidelines established by OSHA standards at all times. Job Requirements: Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record Must be able to lift 80 lbs. on a daily basis Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces. Must be willing and able to work Monday – Friday. Must be willing and able to travel overnight to various locations TWIC card, although the ability to obtain one will also be considered. Drug Screening (w random program) and criminal background checks are part of the hiring process. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Tig/Mig/Stick welding, including the following: Stainless steel TIG welding proficiency is required for this role Inspect welds for accuracy. Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts. Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location. Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use. Operate fork lift, if required and trained. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas. Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position. Work Relationships and Scope: Reports directly to the shop supervisor; Daily interaction with operations and employees. Performance Expectations: Safety, Quality, Accuracy, Timeliness, Reliability and Thoroughness of work performed; develops good working relationships with the shop supervisor, co-workers and other employees. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Prefer at least 3-5 years of experience working with welding. Position requires good mathematical ability. Position requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures. Pipe fitting experience Working Conditions: Some safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting and pushing up to 80 pounds is required. Must be able to work outdoors at all times, which requires physical strength and stamina to endure extreme heat, cold and other conditions.
