Job Summary
The Fresh Meat Manager is responsible for providing customers with the highest quality meat products while ensuring compliance with all safety, sanitation, and NetCost Market standards. This role oversees the processing, packaging, stocking, and presentation of meat products, as well as training and developing department associates.
Key Responsibilities
Provide customers with superior quality meat products and excellent service.
Possess extensive knowledge of all fresh meat products and their preparation.
Train, supervise, and develop new and existing associates in all areas, including cutting, stocking, merchandising, sales, service, and record-keeping.
Ensure all products are accurately priced, wrapped, labeled, and stored at appropriate temperatures.
Safely operate and maintain all equipment in accordance with company safety policies.
Follow approved procedures for receiving, code-dating, preparing, storing, price-marking, scaling, and restocking meat products to ensure freshness, accuracy, and proper rotation.
Receive supplies, maintain organized inventory, and monitor stock levels.
Perform meat cutting, grinding, and preparation for customer sales.
Ensure department cleanliness by sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment according to health and safety regulations.
Monitor refrigeration equipment for proper performance and report issues immediately.
Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy to minimize loss.
Adhere to dress code requirements including uniform, name badge, and proper hair restraint.
Complete all department training programs and stay current with company standards.
Perform other duties as assigned, including transfers as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Prior experience with meat cutting and handling required.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret, follow instructions, and problem-solve effectively.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
