About the Position

The Loan Officer will increase their mortgage loan portfolio by developing business contacts and attracting mortgage customers. They will be responsible for all aspects of originating and negotiating mortgage loans and advising and counseling our customers on available loan options. Essential Functions/Competencies

  • Develop referral sources for purchase and refinance mortgages from realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts
  • Build rapport, analyze financial situations, determine the appropriate loan product to meet clients' goals, and submit a preliminary loan package for processing
  • Achieve sales and referral goals
  • Develop a positive client experience consistently
  • Recommend loan solutions per lending guidelines and client requirements
  • Manage a portfolio of customer relationships effectively
  • Seek prospective opportunities to retain and/or develop new clients
  • Proactively seek ways to develop and expand referral network relationships to achieve sales goals
  • Desire to maximize personal productivity through attention to detail, self-motivation, and adaptability
  • Actively participate in opportunities to expand knowledge, influence others, and maintain continuing education

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in residential mortgage sales is preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of retail, residential mortgage sales experience
  • Documented success with residential purchase/refinance mortgage loans preferred
  • Established relationships with local referral networks
  • The successful candidate must meet and comply with all requirements outlined in the SAFE Act, including, but not limited to, the successful completion of the required background checks and obtaining a Unique Identifier from the NMLS

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
