Sabbatical - 25% Production - Ownership Opportunity 

Central Coast Pet Emergency is seeking an experienced Veterinarian\ninterested in coming onboard to lead our team as a Medical Director!

  • 4 week sabbatical for every 5 years of service.

Duties\nand Responsibilities

Advancing\nMedical Care

    \n
  • Oversees surgical and\n medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate\n estimates, and client communication and education
  • \n
  • Answers client questions\n and concerns regarding medical and surgical procedures
  • \n
  • Provides oversight and\n direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventory
  • \n
  • Establishes medical\n protocols
  • \n
  • Oversees transfer of\n medical cases from doctor to doctor
  • \n
  • Minimizes waste and\n controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and\n drug inventories
  • \n

Leading\nStaff and Practice

    \n
  • Participates in the\n recruiting and interviewing process for doctors, and when appropriate\n general staff members
  • \n
  • Monitors doctor\n performance and production
  • \n
  • Develops and monitors\n hospital-specific client compliance protocols and procedures
  • \n
  • Participates in\n technician appraisal and medical counseling sessions
  • \n
  • Ensures all medical\n staff receive applicable training, including the mentoring of new graduates
  • \n
  • Supports the Hospital\n Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM/VMD licensure
  • \n

Financial\nResponsibilities

  • Drives revenue and\n hospital contribution growth, which includes managing all hospital\n expenses
  • \n
  • Assists in the\n preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget and capital\n budget
  • \n
  • Monitors key financial\n reports
  • \n

Growing\nthe Practice

    \n
  • Drives patient visits\n and encourages community involvement
  • \n
  • Embraces change and\n supports innovative programs within the hospital
  • \n
  • Monitors client service,\n marketing, and NVA growth initiatives
  • \n
  • Seeks out ways to\n innovate operational practices that improve the growth of the practice
  • \n
