Robotics Technician | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and calibrate industrial robotic systems and their peripherals.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on robotic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues in robotic cells.
• Execute repairs, replacements, and adjustments of robotic components, end-effectors, and safety devices.
• Program and fine-tune robot paths, logic, and teach points for new products or process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize robot performance and integrate new automation solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system configurations.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA) in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, including reading schematics and performing component-level repairs.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex automation system failures quickly and effectively.
• Experience with preventative maintenance procedures for robotic cells and associated equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence)
• Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python) for data analysis or advanced robot programming
• Familiarity with CAD software for cell layout, fixture design, or robot path planning
• Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet)
