Setup Technician | Mason, MI

Salary Range: $39,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust production machinery and equipment according to specifications.
• Perform mold, die, or tooling changes and equipment calibration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions and process issues during production.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Monitor machine performance, cycle times, and product quality during production runs.
• Document setup parameters, maintenance activities, and production records accurately.
• Assist in training machine operators on proper equipment use and safety procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience (2-5 years) in setting up, adjusting, and operating manufacturing machinery.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for production equipment.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and basic quality control principles.
• Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming or basic robotics operation/troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., SMED, 5S) or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software for interpreting or making minor adjustments to setup diagrams/fixtures.
• Certification in a specialized area (e.g., advanced hydraulics, precision metrology, specific machine brand operation).
