Job Description Job Description Job Title: Staff Accountant Job Description As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in streamlining accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timely execution. You will be responsible for key pieces of the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. You will also maintain and update fixed asset schedules, assist with audit preparation, and contribute to financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. This role offers exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, fostering continuous improvement through automation and workflow optimization. Responsibilities Streamline accounts payable and receivable processes. Own key pieces of the month-end close process. Cultivate relationships with vendors and customers. Maintain and update fixed asset schedules. Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting. Drive continuous improvement through automation. Participate in special projects with senior leadership. Essential Skills Accounting expertise with at least 3 years of professional experience. Strong grasp of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems. Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking ability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with ITAR products and related data. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Outgoing and upbeat personality that meshes well with the team. Curiosity, energy, and a growth mindset. Work Environment This position is fully on-site at the company headquarters. The accounting team is located on the top floor, which is scheduled for a modern renovation later this year. The team includes a VP of Finance, Cost Accountant, and Assistant Controller. The role follows a 980 schedule, working Monday through Thursday for 9 hours, with every other Friday off, and on working Fridays, the schedule is 8 hours. Shifts typically start between 7:30am and 8:30am, depending on department needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clearwater, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
