Dr. Sumru Atuk (Politics) seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate student to serve as a Research Assistant . The student will contribute to a faculty research project in feminist political theory, social movements, and gender-based violence, with a focus on preparing a scholarly book manuscript for publication. This position offers hands‑on experience with academic research, writing, and publication processes. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of a scholarly book manuscript for publication. Conduct reference checking and ensure citation accuracy and consistency. Perform brief, targeted research on relevant scholarly literature, policy documents, or historical materials. Help organize bibliographic materials. Attend and participate in regular project meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Junior or senior undergraduate student majoring in Politics . Either a Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) major or minor or completion of coursework in WGSS. Familiarity with social movements literature and practice. In good academic standing and able to demonstrate the ability to manage independent research tasks. Strong reading, writing, and organizational skills. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with academic research or as a research assistant. Familiarity with citation management tools (e.g., Zotero, EndNote). Strong interest in feminist theory, critical theory, and/or gender and politics.
