Job Description Job Description To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree prior to their first day of employment with our organization. A background in education is not a prerequisite. Thank you for considering a role with us! Managing a large, rapidly expanding, and high-achieving network of public charter schools requires a collaborative effort from families, students, educators, staff, advocates, and supporters. We are excited to invite you to join our community! Our daily mission is to ensure that every child has access to an engaging, comprehensive education, regardless of their zip code or financial background. By becoming part of our team, you contribute to providing every student who enters our doors with a fair opportunity to realize their potential. Are you enthusiastic, motivated, and seeking an intellectually stimulating environment where you can make a difference? As a teacher within New York City’s leading network of K-12 charter schools, you will collaborate with a dedicated team focused on educating and empowering children from low-income neighborhoods to become confident thinkers and leaders, equipped to explore and discuss complex ideas, and prepared for college and their future aspirations. No prior educational experience is necessary. We offer comprehensive training and a proven curriculum, allowing you to concentrate on engaging with your students rather than creating lesson plans from scratch. As we advance towards our most ambitious goals yet, we are in search of talented individuals who are eager to cultivate exceptional leadership abilities, foster a collaborative learning environment, and apply their knowledge for significant social impact on behalf of children. Career Advancement and Skill Development: Our organization provides unmatched opportunities for professional growth and rapid advancement, with leadership roles available both within the classroom and beyond. As a teacher, you will: Enhance your communication skills and build strong, meaningful connections with students, their families, and your colleagues and mentors. Become a proficient problem solver capable of addressing challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Learn to evaluate and interpret data to track your students’ progress and adapt your teaching strategies accordingly. Participate in professional development sessions with school leaders to receive targeted, real-time feedback and coaching to enhance your performance. Have the chance to grow as a leader and potentially lead an entire grade team. There are also pathways to transition into school leadership roles, such as assistant principal, or to move to our network office. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree must be obtained before your first day of employment with our organization. A relevant and rigorous academic major (e.g., biology, history, chemistry, economics, physics, English, mathematics, engineering). Ability to work on-site in New York City (a $2,500 stipend is available for eligible relocations). Experience supervising a classroom of 20 or more students. What We Seek: Commitment to Excellence: You set high standards for yourself and are willing to put in the effort required to achieve them. Confidence and Charisma: You enjoy taking initiative and motivating others with your enthusiasm and dedication. Passion for Knowledge: You have a love for literature, science, history, and/or math, and actively seek to expand your understanding of these subjects. Organizational Skills: You are adept at managing multiple responsibilities and can effectively prioritize tasks. Emotional Intelligence: You excel at building trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Desire to Learn: You are intellectually curious and eager to master new skills, welcoming feedback and coaching to help you reach your goals. Resilience: You view setbacks as opportunities for growth rather than frustrations. Compensation: Starting Salary: $65,000.00 Our organization is an equal opportunity employer and actively encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds. We offer competitive compensation that reflects experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development. Privacy Policy: By providing your phone number, you agree to receive text message updates regarding your application. Reply STOP to opt-out. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We actively seek applications from individuals of all backgrounds to enrich our community and the perspectives necessary to thrive in a multicultural environment.
