Tooling Designer – Metal Stamping
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Tooling Designer to join our Engineering Team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in tooling design and manufacturing processes within a leading metal stamping environment. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and optimize tooling solutions that support production goals, drive efficiency, and uphold the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop tooling for metal stamping processes, including dies, punches, fixtures, and related components.
Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to understand requirements, specifications, and production challenges.
Create detailed 2D and 3D tooling designs using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to optimize tooling for manufacturability and performance.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source materials and components for tooling production.
Perform design reviews to ensure tooling meets all quality, safety, and operational standards.
Support troubleshooting and maintenance of existing tooling to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
Maintain accurate documentation of tooling designs, modifications, and specifications.
Stay current on industry trends and advancements in tooling technologies.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Tooling Designer in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Strong understanding of stamping processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience with CAD/CAM integration and CNC machining.
Familiarity with die design and fabrication processes.
Knowledge of quality control standards in metal stamping.
