Laser Applications Technician I (2nd Shift) Preco is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision automated processing systems for high‑speed and high‑accuracy cutting, perforating, welding, and other specialized industrial processing applications. With our proprietary die‑cutting and laser‑based manufacturing capabilities, Preco has also become one of the largest contract manufacturing service (CMS) providers in North America. About the Role Preco is now hiring for a Laser Applications Technician I (2nd shift) at their Somerset, WI location. It will be the responsibility of the Laser Applications Technician I to set up and run laser systems to process customer parts/products, assuring maximum safety and efficiency. They also inspect parts to verify conformance to customer specifications. 2nd Shift is 4:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Responsibilities Set up and operate custom‑designed/standard laser machinery to process customer parts/products in accordance with customer specifications, using previously set parameters. Perform detailed quality inspections of finished product, using various measuring tools. Start up and shut down systems. Perform necessary preventive maintenance (PMs). Troubleshoot system issues. Use Excel and Word frequently. Provide on‑call technical support per the on‑call policy. Complete all necessary paperwork whether hard copy or electronic. Follow and assist in creating work instructions. Package parts and route to shipping. Perform work cell clean‑up as required. Various other duties as directed by Supervisor. Qualifications High school education or GED required. 2‑year technical degree preferred. 1–3 years industrial experience. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Computer skills (Microsoft Office, CAD a plus). Strong math aptitude. Preferred Skills Able to safely drive a forklift. Excellent eyesight and hearing.
